Book Review - Antalogi Rasa by Ika Natassa (no spoiler)

Every writer has their own hallmark. After reading Antalogi Rasa (second book from Ika Natassa that I read), I start to notice similarity between the books.

Airport, it seem like Ika Natassa has a special memory about airport. Critical Eleven and Antalogi Rasa starts with chapter about airport. When you read the first chapter, you will instantly know that is Ika who wrote the book.

Write the story from different view of person. While in Critical Eleven Ika wrote from 2 different angle in Antalogi Rasa she wrote from 3 different angle, Keara, Harris and Ruly. Even though most of it from Keara and Harris point of view.

Name and character. Harris name and character are some much look a like in Antalogi Rasa and Critical Eleven. Main character always beautiful, independent and success career women.

Maybe it's just my shallow observation after reading her two books but I enjoy reading them. It's light and a great escape from your busy days.  Once you read it you want to finish read the book instantly and wants to know the end.  Love the end of Antalogi Rasa but cliché ending for Critical Eleven.

I love the way the story flows in Antalogi Rasa, emotion and relation between all the characters.  The twist and dynamic relation Keara had with Harris, Panji and Ruly. The way Keara play with her own feeling and at the end realize that she can change something that she posses of. 

This review will not help anyone that wants to know the story of Antalogi Rasa, but if you buy and read the book, you will enjoy it.

Any suggestion for my next book review? Went to book store last week but somehow none grab my attention.  Let's go to the book store.... yeah....

My Thinking

Lately, I have a lot of things on my mind. I try to discover myself and define it into words. Somehow it makes me feel better and I write it on my twitter(@blue_goldfish). I also want to rewrite it on my blog, just to remind me of my thinking and feeling.

Maybe it's how the way universe works to tell me the right thing to do.

If you just do your thing, you'll never have any reason to envy others.

Book Review : Critical Eleven by Ika Natassa *no spoiler*

Somewhere between Jakarta-Depok in commuter line train, which I rarely take, I had an idea to write a book review.  I just bought 2 books, 2 weeks before. One of them was Critical Eleven by Ika Natassa. I never read any of Ika Natassa book before, that make Critical Eleven is the first book of Ika Natassa that I read.  Let's start the book review ala Kimi, Book Review without spoiler. :)

At first I had to admit that this book can make me cry. Maybe because the story close enough to my personal life.  Lost, lost of something that we love, something that we had waiting for, something that we expected to come.  Anya (Tanya Baskoro) and Ale (Aldebaran Risjad), the two main characters in this book, feel very devastated but then they just express it in a different way that make both of them loss each other.

For me the story a little bit too cliche.  A single, beautiful and successful women met a single, handsome and successful man. Just like a fairytale. The conflict began when Anya can't accept Ale accusition and decide to move away from it instead of deal with it. Anya and Ale trying to get justified on how they feel and behave. Ale's family make the story more lively but somehow Ika didn't tell us much about Anya's family. I got a feeling of Sex and the City about Anya, when you are close to your friend than your family.

Ika writes the book from 2 different angle, Anya and Ale. But sometimes, repetition happened, and it just feel like dejavu. Anya already described a situation and then you read the same line all over again from Ale. The feeling that each of them feel, the emotion, the thin line between right and wrong, uncertainty of feeling are well described by Ika. Detail of location and place and detail information on related things such as part of brain or critical eleven minutes in aviation world are not too much to get us iritated but just enough for us to get the context and knowledge. The boorkmark is very unique, a boarding pass, love it.

Overall, a nice book to read to spend your lazy weekend. ***

Ya iya lah pastinya, karena yang punya Craftivity adalah yang punya blog yang amat sangat keren nih. Jahit sendiri, pakai sendiri, kadang-kadang give away ke saudara or teman dekat. Sampai saat ini tidak menerima pesanan maupun request karena membuat tas atau pouch atau hasil karya lainnya berdasarkan mood, mood dan keterserdiaan waktu. Walaupun kain banyak bertumpuk dan semakin banyak bertumpuk tetap saja mimi harus menunggu mood datang. Mood oh mood Where art thou?

2. SewStories (SS)
Fall in love with this product since 2013. Pada waktu itu untuk mendapatkan SS butuh perjuangan banget. Harus mantengin facebook pada saat mbak Imel yang punya SS upload, karena begitu diupload langsung dibook dalam hitungan detik or sepersepuluh ribu detik *lebay.com*. Tapi kira-kira begitu lah susahnya, belum lagi kadang-kadang waktu uploadnya ajaib, bisa tengah malam, bisa sore-sore or bisa kapan aja. Trus dulu belum bisa PO, kalo mau pesen harus WA mbak imel sering-sering biar mbak Imel buatin pesanan kita. Hmm belum sempet ngitung punya berapa SS yang pasti banyak banget. Soalnya harga sebanding lah sama barangnya, walaupun untuk beberapa item menurut penulis terlalu berat untuk badan penulis yang imut ini (cieehhh ngaku imut) dan pundak yang sudah renta dan gampang sakit. Atau dompet yang terlalu berat dan besar. Berikut penampakan koleksi SS. Tenang saudara-saudara masih ada koleksi yang belum sempat terfoto. Maaf waktu itu agak maniak SS, sekarang sudah insyaf. Sekarang sewstories lagi ultah yang ke-4. Happy Birthday.... dan mimi lagi ikutan kontes fotonya, kayaknya susah menang, tapi tetap harus optimis dan positive.

3. Others
Untuk sisanya saya kategorikan sebagai others saja ya. karena punyanya juga nggak banyak.
Handmade by Sofia Sadji, lupa namanya apa. Tapi punya 2 tas dan 1 dompet, dua diantaranya bergambar Candy Candy, karena mimi pecinta berat Candy Candy. Secara kualitas lumayan, tapi salah satu tas, talinya kulitnya mengelupas akhirnya ganti tali tas ke tukang tas deh. Harga standard untuk handmade yang memang cukup mahal jika dibandingkan dengan mass production.
Project Aili Indonesia
Tas dan dompetnya mix dengan motif batik. Punya 2 tas dan 1 dompet. Lagi-lagi untuk yang tas, kulitnya mengelupas, again ke tukang tas untuk diganti kulitnya. Salah satu tas, as gift diberikan kepada ibu mertua. Semoga kabarnya baik-baik saja. Harga standard for Batik bag.

Khalid Ahmad Rasyad

It seems that previously I didn't have time to write about Rasyad birth process. Rasyad was a very nice baby when he was inside my tummy. I took my maternity leave 2 weeks before the due date since at that time I had to wait my replacement first. I always had a feeling about the delivery time, it wasn't 100% correct but it just a near miss, just few days nearmiss :). My feeling said that Rasyad will see the world on Monday, but he chose Saturday night instead.

I already felt the contraction 3 days before giving birth. On Saturday, 26th April 2014 on 9pm I asked my husband to accompany me go to the hospital, my sisters informed my parents to go to our house to accompany Rafan at home, eventhough we had our assistants at home. The process was fast, around 11.30pm Rasyad already become our second child. So happyyy............... after all that happened before, Rasyad is a gift from Allah to our little family. Welcome to our little family Khalid Ahmad Rasyad, our beloved little boy.

Operasi Usus Buntu

Operasi usus buntu, hmm kayaknya sih sering denger tapi nggak pernah mengira bahwa itu akan dialami oleh Rafan. He just 9 years old, too young but the doctor said it has nothing to do with age. Anyone including 20 months baby can have appendix surgery. Jadi kesimpulannya tergantung amal ibadah eh tergantung nasib ding.

Dimulai Sabtu sore tiba-tiba Rafan mengeluh sakit perut karena tidak bisa pup, mimi pikir ah biasa anak-anak, suka susah makan sayur dan kurang minum air putih jadi susah pup. Tapi kok sakit perutnya nggak berkurang dan nggak ilang-ilang. Trus Rafan muntah, setelah muntah Rafan bilang sakit perutnya mendingan, oke mungkin Rafan keracunan makanan. Kesimpulan ibu-ibu minim pengetahuan. Tak lama kemudian sakit perutnya muncul lagi, akhirnya berhasil membujuk papi untuk nganterin Rafan ke dokter. Dapat rujukan dari dokter untuk usg mengecek usus buntu hari Senin, karena minggu radiologinya tutup. Rafan terus muntah-muntah dan sakit perutnya tidak mereda, kasian Rafan jadi nggak bisa tidur dan gelisah. Obat dari dokter pun tidak ada efeknya. Pukul setengah 1 malam akhirnya Rafan kita bawa ke UGD.

Sampai di UGD langsung diperiksa oleh dokter jaga, dicek darah dan di diagnosa usus buntu, kesimpulannya kemungkinan besar harus operasi. Karena hasil periksa darah leukositnya tinggi jadi disarankan untuk check in kamar. Setuju untuk check in, sementara itu Rafan tetap belum boleh diberikan pereda rasa sakit karena akan mengaburkan penyebab sakitnya. Jam setengah 3 akhirnya kita baru masuk ke kamar dan dijadwalkan untuk ketemu dokter bedah Minggu pagi. Seperti biasa kalo nggak lebay namanya bukan Rafan. Mau di ambil darah, drama dulu, mau diinfus drama dulu.

Minggu pagi jam setengah 6, dokternya datang. Aiih pagi bener, mimi masih kiyip-kiyip karena baru tidur jam 3. Berdasarkan hasil diagnosis, Rafan disimpulkan radang usus buntu dan harus segera di operasi, semakin cepat semakin baik. Awal-awalnya ragu, masa sih anak kecil bisa usus buntu. Akhirnya Bismillah dan setuju Rafan untuk dioperasi. Operasi dijadwalkan minggu malam pukul 7. Sebelumnya Rafan puasa makan dari jam 12 dan puasa minum dari jam 4 sore. Sebelum operasi Rafan dikasih obat antibiotik lewat infus, setelah dikasih obat, Rafan jadi cerah ceria, ceriwis kayak anak nggak sakit aja. Mungkin karena obatnya menghilangkan rasa sakit, jadinya Rafan happy dan malah nggak sabaran untuk operasi. Mulai heboh untuk ngasih tahu semua orang dan request biar dijenguk. Aihh Rafan seneng banget kalo jadi  pusat perhatian.

Alhamdulillah operasi berjalan lancar dan sekarang Rafan dalam masa pemulihan.  Semoga Rafan cepat sembuh dan bisa main seperti biasa lagi. We love you Rafan, get well soon. Muah muah.....

Dengan hadirnya imutable, cutable Rasyad, hobby jahit menjahit agak tersendat. Karena suka nggak tegaaaaaa ninggal di kecil untuk menjahit walaupun ada mbak, Rasanya gimana gitu.

Tapi masih bisa berproduksi walaupun sedikitttttt sekali. Berhasil membuat sling bag dan tote bag dengan semua motif Matryoshka yang semuanya handmade asli Craftivity ibu kimi yang baik hati, rajin menabung dan tidak sombong.

Approaching Year End

Hello..... Here we are now, approaching year end of 2014.
I have new baby boy, beautiful and adorable baby. We named him Khalid Ahmad Rasyad. He was born on 26th April 2014. See, i told you that he is cute.

Arghh.... the website is error. I can't add more pictures. Hmmm maybe it's time to go home since it's already 6.45pm and I'm still sitting on my desk at the office. Don't worry will update you more. Good Night...

February 2014

Happy New Year 2014 and Happy Birthday to me.....
A very very late greeting, just like usual.... *speechless*
Well well many things happened since my last post. Of course many things happend it's been 6 months since my last post :).

Great news, currently i'm 6-7 months pregnant, yeayyyyy, doctor said it's a baby boy, Rafan is so happy and my husband can't wait to see the baby. Another good new is I got promoted August last year, but it means also more things and challenging things to do. Imagine, got a new job while still doing double role and you got all the sickness due to early pregnancy. The result is AMAZING, thanks God I can go through everything and here I am still alive and writing this blog.

I'm still love to sew but the progress of my sew skill is very slowwww. So far so significant progress but still I'm happy because it's a hobby so no pressure at all. I called my sewing masterpiece my craftivity and I create a craftivity label, a very simple label for my handmade creation. I like to post my creation on facebook and instagram. Some of friends and even people that I don't know asked whether it's for sale or not, the answer for the moment is it's not for sale. It's my hobby, I love doing it in my spare time and I don't want to put pressure on things that I like.  Eventhough I might sell it offline in my own store, Blue Point at Depok Town Square but it will not be sell online for the time being.

Another new thing is it's a first time that me and my husband buy a real painting in a real gallery in bali with a real price. Of course what I mean with real price is expensive proce, at least for me and my husband. We also buy "murmer" painting in a store in Bali.  I can buy 33 of this not expensive paiting and only painting with the real price. Me and my husband buy 3 real painting with real price *sigh*. Hope it's a right decision to make.  If you want to see the painting you have to come to my house since I will not post the painting here :D.

My New Passion - Sewing

Wow it's been almost a year since my last post. *bersih-bersih debu dan sarang laba-laba yang menempel*. So many things happened during that period of time. kalo diceritain satu-satu, bisa berhalaman-halaman deh postingannya.

Let's begin from October 2012.... Yeayy I was pregnant at that time and veryyy happyyy, we've been expecting rafan's brother/sister since 3-4 years ago. It's a big challenge of course, since my office was in cikarang, it took total 5-6 hours for me to go to the office and get back home safely. My very kind line manager, moved me from cikarang to head office in jakarata on early december but later on end of December 2012 I had my first miscarriage. Yup, i did wrote the first one because another miscarriage happened on April 2013. I got pregnant again on February 2013, with full of worried, went to the doctor every 2 weeks to ensure that everything ok. But due to some unexplainable reason, I had another miscarriage on early April. When all my collagues were having fun in belitung. Life goes on and still feeling very blessed with everything that happened to me. Planning to give it a try again after lebaran. Which is next month. Wish me luck.

Sometime between April and May, I can't remember the exact date. I found my new hobby. My beloved husband bought me a sewing machine. Thanks a lot papa. I start to sew and falling in love with it and now it becomes my passion. For those who want to learn on how to sew, you can try to find easy tutorial from the internet. I love tutorial in the CraftbyMood and Craftalova and they are all in bahasa so it will be easy for you to follow. CraftbyMood is very very recommended. You can fabrics and sewing supply and also get the tutorial at the same time. For those who looking for fabrics, you can find many fabrics seller in the facebook. Local and import one. Mention some of them are fabrics galore, olen nainen fabric, good thinks, happie shopink, craftalova, mutiara craft, (import), moymoik fabric, asyiknya menjahit, jualan kain sprei and happy blossom (local). Random Thoughts on Saturday Night

Wow, it's been months since my last post. Hmm sibuk kali ya, sibuk merenungi nasib tepatnya :). Berasa seperti ababil yang masih bingung dan masih belum yakin kalo ditanya, what do you really want in this life? what is your objective of life? what do you really want to do? Jawabannya sih banyak tapi yang bener jawabannya hanya boleh ada 1, karena life is all about making choices and take the consequences. Sempat berpikir kalo orang yg selfish itu pasti adalah orang yang paling bahagia, karena dia bisa melakukan sesuatu yang dia inginkan tanpa harus memikirkan kepentingan orang lain yang penting dirinya sendiri happy. Tapi apa daya, I can't be selfish, it's just not who I am, then the next question who are you? well that's a secret I'll never tell :).

I just want to share that you have to look your life in a broaden view. Maybe you can do a lot for others even if you suffer a little bit for doing that. Keep praying and ask Allah to give the best for you because you don't know what is the best for yourself. Currently I'm just trying be happy and keep looking what I looking for :).

Aih random abis ya, ini bukan untuk dimengerti tapi hanya untuk mimi sendiri biar inget milestones in my life. Bentar lagi Rafan masuk SD, yeayyyy, time flies indeed. Memasuki babak baru sebagai seorang ibu yang mempunyai anak SD, ha ha ha ha lebay.com.

Ingin nulis artikel dan cerita semuanya udah ada di otak tapi diantara sok sibuk nggak punya waktu dan males untuk menuangkannya kedalam ketikan word.

Bulan depan udah puasa, nggak berasa juga udah hampir setiap 1 tahun menjalani perjalanan panjang hampir setiap harinya. Yang diiringi dengan deep thought and a little bit tears :). Don't know when it will be ended or when I will sure to end it. Well, I already in the acceptance level but I never give up on my life.

My Bag Review

Happy New Year......
Happy Birthday to me :)

Suddenly I really want to write a review for bag :D
I don't have a lot of money to spend on a bag, so I choose carefully.
Yes, the first choice isn't always the right choice but as everybody says experience is the best teacher. Let's start.

I love Kipling, yes the monkey.
It made of canvas and sturdy. It worth every penny of it. You can use in the rain or under the sunshine, you don't have to be panic while you're walking on the street then suddenly the rain comes. I like to keep it simple and so does kipling. It really suits me.

I also love Braun Buffel wallet. I have 3 of them all of them are made from leather and they are just as good as you expected from a wallet. Good quality, long lasting, and they have some fancy color. Mine is pink, black and brown.
Just bought a Braun Buffel bag, let's see 6 months from now before I comment on it.

Elle bag, well it just so heavy without anything inside. Good quality but just too heavy while kipling is so light.

My sister gave me Longchamp bag for my birthday gift. Yeaayyy, thanks a lot sista....
It made of canvas with leather handle. Still looking for canvas bag protector before use it. So couldn't say much about it.

Fossil bag. Well what I can say, it's a bad bad bad investment on a bag. Quite expensive for me and very bad quality. Within 3 months the handle is broken and the leather quality is bad. I never ever again will buy fossil bag.

Don't forget to use bag protector for your leather bag or wallet.

My Foods Favourites List

Setelah sekian lama ngeblog, kok nggak pernah ngeblog soal makanan ya?
Well, food is not really my things :)
But lately all I can think is food :D
So, here we go, my favourites foods for the time being..... eng ing eng.....

1. Sanpachi Ramen
Always order Jigoku ramen and ocha for a thousand times *lebay.com*
Biasanya makan yang di Pacific Place or Citos. Lagian tahunya cuman di 2 tempat itu sih jadinya ya kesitu2 lagi.

2. Kiyadon Sushi
Kalo ingin sushi pasti ke Kiyadon yang di PP. Hmmm mesennya pasti sushi-nya yang itu lagi itu lagi. Tapi lupa namanya :D. Karena lately makan ramen melulu jadinya udah agak lama nggak ke kiyadon sushi. In my opinion, kiyadon sushi is much better than sushitei :).

3. Soto Mie
Paling suka makan soto mie abang2 yang mangkal di lapangan jalan jawa deket rumah. Tapi sekarang abangnya udah pindah nggak jelas kemana, jadinya nggak pernah lagi deh makan soto mie enak itu. Hu hu hu hu hu hu I really miss the soto mie.

4. Lamien & Mie Ayam
Suka juga sama lamien yang ad foodcourtnya grand lucky or mie ayam abang2 yang di kukusan juga oke. Ha ha ha ha ha ha jauh banget ya beda harga antara lamien en mie ayam but for me the taste almost the same.

5. Sate Padang
Yeee ini juga salah satu makanan favorit. Nggak ada yg terlalu favorit sih asal sate padang enak, hayoo aja....

6. Indomie telor rasa ayam bawang plus cabe rawit
Nah ini juga enak banget nih........
Bisa memmbuat perasaan menjadi lebih baik :D

Aduh apa lagi ya....
Basicly nggak mimi nggak terlalu rewel bin bawel masalah makanan, hampir semua makanan oke dari ketoprak sampai steak.

Kalo makanan enak versi Rafan adalah......

1. Telor orak arik Wall E
Terutama tentunya bikinan mama tercinta ini. Coba deh cek sama kakak Rayna, pasti kakak rayna bilang telor orak arik mimi is the best.

2. Mie Goreng Jawa
Langganan banget mie goreng jawa di Sagoo Kitchen plus teh manis hangatnya. Menu wajib Rafan.

3. Sapo Tahu Tawan
Biasanya kalo jalan-jalan sama Rafan makan di Tawan. Nah Rafan udah tahu en bilang "mama aku mau sapo tahu", trus nanti dia minta wortelnya. "Wortelnya mana mama?". Kita juga suka pesen udang telor asin, Rafan juga suka. Kalo diajak ke Tawan makannya banyak :D.

Wahh apalagi ya?
Kalo favorites papa, mimi agak2 nggak yakin.
Nanti deh diwawancara dulu biar pasti.
Hmm tiba-tiba ingin naan keju-nya go curry.........

Last but not least untuk friend chicken, KFC is the best.
